István Németh Primary School

About our school

Our institution took up its name (Németh István Általános Iskola / István Németh Primary School) in December 1991.

The school is operating in the building of the Hungarian Railway Lines Youth Hostel. The reason of this name was the name of the Major’s work and more over he took part in the foundation of the Hungarian Railway Lines Youth Hostel.

In our school there are 287 children (from the age of 6 to 15). There are 12 groups, the number of the students in one classis 22 on the average.

Most of the students live in Kaposvár or near the town, however there are 40 children who live in the Hostel.

Our educational program's characteristic is the differential aptitude development.

We have some offers for children who are talented at something or the ones who learn more slowly .

In our school for students with learning difficulties can find integrated development program from the first class to the fourth one. (different theraphies eg.: Syndelar, etc…)

In our 5 th and 6 th years there are close ups from Hungarian Grammar and Maths.

There are hygienical gymnastics lessons for some children (3 hours a week) and swimming lesson for the children at the 4 th year (2 hours a week). For these opportunities students don ^, t have to pay.

Our students can learn the German or the English language from the 4 th year.

Technich and ICT subjects are taught until the 8 th year.

In the 8 th year students can choose from Maths, H. Grammar and ICT subjects as facultative subjects.

Today our students can get to know the most modern technics, using the Suli-Net. (using ICT) For our differential aptitude development our institution has got the personal and material conditions, as well.

For our talented children we have different kinds of study circles. Eg.: Maths, ICT, Football, Music, Art, English etc…

We have day-time hours for the ones who would like to learn in the school for the 1 st to the 8 th year.

The school makes new programmes into the traditions. We have students ^, day, sports ^, day and competition days, too.

Our children can introduce their knowledge in our „Smile Night” when the parents can watch them, too.

We have relations with partner schools from different conntries (England, Transylvania, Wales).

Because of our previous Socrates programme we hold Euro Days, as well. Last year we made our „bearcollection” and a Europe classroom.

We go on a school trip at the end of every year, we like it very much. Our 3 rd and 4 th – year students can spend some time at the areas of Somogy country, we call it „wood school”.

Our seniors can go to different places of Hungary.

We have summer camps too. It can work because of the aids of our own foundation (the "Smilepartner Foundation").

From the beginning of the last year we have a new programme, which helps for students and their parents to spend the children's time in a meaningful way.
